The majority of safes today are classified as a residential security container. Graffunder safes are a safe within a safe, neither stamped nor formed. Graffunder safes are constructed out of plate steel. Their MINIMIUM outer body thickness starts at 1/4" plate steel with an inner body thickness of 14 to 16 gauge. Graffunder's higher security rated safes are constructed with thicker plate steel. Most safe manufacturers are proud of their sheetrock fire barrier. A cement composite filling is used between the outer and inner bodies of a Graffunder safe. Other manufacturers use lightweight steel with formed/stamped parts in their doors. Doesn't heavy steel bars with a rack & pinion gear system sound more secure?

Randomization, as it applies to Graffunder products, means that one or more aspects of the security system is randomly placed or it's structure is changed from one unit to the next, even among model lines. This is important as there are numerous publications in circulation detailing the inner workings and mechanisms of most commercially built safes, vaults and vault doors. These publications are utilized by the legitimate safe technician and aid him/her in opening a locked container. However, these same publications can and do end up in the wrong hands and also aid the criminal safe cracker in their jobs. That is why it's so important to change those features randomly every time so there are no drill point locations, re-locker locations, barrier material composition information, etc. to use. Each safe we produce is unique and therefore will take much longer to open than a similarly rated safe from another manufacturer. And when Graffunder says random, they mean true randomization; not placing a part in one of three positions or making a run of 200 safes one way and the next 200 another way.

Buyers sometimes purchase a safe because of the cosmetics on the outside - it looks pretty. Security is Graffunder's sole purpose. However, our safes are painted with a quality gloss or textured finish - and they do look pretty too. Several appealing exterior colors and interior configurations are available. Not to mention, there are numerous options to choose from - your choice.
